I am truly excited to announce the soft launch of hippievanman.com!!
After lots of hard work and persistence, I managed to get the site up and running, with a few blogs and some content to get things going.
The van was purchased back in April of 2011. However I only got the idea in the past year or so to start the Hippie Van Man project, which will document the road trip I plan to take departing in August 2013 from Toronto, Canada heading first to Burning Man and then towards South America.
I am doing my best to fill in the back-story behind everything that has gone into the van between when I purchased it and now. In the next few months, I will continue to add in content from the previous year or two which pertain to the journey of the van.
I hope to cover everything from the purchase of the van to the various DIY (do it yourself) projects I have done to the van, to our 2011 trip to Burning Man, and so on.
There are also some exciting features like a [highlight color=”color”] web-tv series[/highlight] and [highlight color=”color”] live feed[/highlight] features which will be implemented closer to the departure date in August.
The planned web-tv series will feature everything from DIY projects involving the van; to trip preparation; to the actual road trip which will include sight seeing, events, friends, hitch-hikers, random shenanigans and much more.
As stated in the mission statement, the key goal behind the site is to share the experience, inspiring people to live their dreams, and to live in the now. It’s about the spirit of adventure, and spreading smiles and good vibes 1km at a time.
I look forward to sharing the experience with anyone and everyone who cares to take interest, whether it be following online or jumping in and riding along with me. I would like to extend an open invitation to friends and family who wish to ride along (even if only for a week or two or three), you are more than welcome to join in the adventure in person.
That being said, I am also open to making new friends and having them along for the ride as well. Don’t know me? That’s fine. I’m always happy to meet new people and make new connections. Get in touch if you would like to ride along; I don’t bite (usually)!
